MUNMUN (Aatpoure) - Traditional Bengali Doll
MUNMUN (Aatpoure) - Traditional Bengali Doll
Munmun is elegantly dressed in a classic white saree with a striking red border, draped in the distinctive aatpoure style, unique to Bengal. One end of the saree is gracefully flung over her right shoulder, where household keys are knotted, symbolizing her role as the keeper of the home.
Her look is adorned with beautiful gold jewellery and a prominent bindi (dot/sindoor) on her forehead, quintessential features of Bengali women. Munmun's hair is typically left loose or elegantly gathered to one side, enhancing her graceful appearance. Traditionally, shaka and pola (red and white conch bangles) are worn by married women, adding to her cultural richness. Munmun’s attire is a vibrant celebration of Bengali tradition and femininity.
